This piece was made in the Civitella Ranieri during the artist’s residence. It is to reflect the situation of intellectuals in history and in current society, through connecting east and west architectural elements. My thinking comes from the merging of the culture of feudal society, Chinese Cultural Revolution and the culture of globalization. The plaque is imitated according to the Mountain Resort in Chengde, which is the Qing dynasty’s summer palace. Four Chinese characters of the plaque are same meaning with the Mountain Resort. The performance is very simple: the artist just stands in the middle balcony of the front of castle, a big plaque is hung on his neck.
