In this work the artist has selected an excerpt from a document that has had an indelible impact on the course of contemporary Chinese history, politics, and society. This excerpt will be collectively enunciated by twenty-six non-Chinese speaking volunteers from the Cornell community, whom I would like to acknowledge by name:
